Basic understanding of networking and operating systems. Preferred Certifications (Optional but Advantage) Microsoft Security Certifications (SC-200, SC-900) Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) – basic level Technical Skills & Tools Security & Monitoring Tools SIEM platforms such as Splunk, CrowdStrike Falcon, or ArcSight Basic knowledge of IDS/IPS tools like Pal Alto NTP, Cisco NGIP, FortiGate FortiGuard IPS and Suricata Endpoint security tools (e.g., Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, SentinelOne, CrowdStrike) Microsoft Security Stack (Highly Preferred) Microsoft Sentinel (basic monitoring & incident handling) Microsoft Defender for Cloud Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) Microsoft Intune for endpoint compliance Microsoft 365 Defender Networking & System Knowledge Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Firewalls Familiarity with Windows and Linux systems Basic command-line usage (PowerShell, Bash) vulnerability & Threat Management Exposure to tools like Nessus, OpenVAS, or Qualys Awareness of common vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10 basics)
